The Savage Arms 64 TR-SR .22 LR is a tactical-styled semi-automatic rimfire with a 16.5-inch fluted heavy barrel threaded 1/2×28 (Savage part no. 45200). The straight-blowback action feeds from a detachable 10-round box magazine, and the receiver is drilled and tapped with a 1-piece EGW scope base. Savage sets the barreled action in a black hardwood tactical stock with a recoil pad and three QD studs. It is a compact range and trainer rifle for shooters who want to hang a muzzle device on a .22.

Key Specifications

• The chambering is .22 LR, a low-recoil rimfire for training and plinking.
• The barrel is 16.5 inches of fluted carbon steel in a varmint contour, which adds stiffness while shedding weight.
• The muzzle is threaded 1/2×28, so a muzzle device or suppressor with that thread attaches directly.
• Rate of twist is 1:16, the rifling pitch cut into this barrel.
• The action is a semi-automatic straight blowback that fires once per trigger pull.
• Capacity is 10 rounds in a detachable box magazine with an ambidextrous magazine release.
• A 1-piece EGW scope base comes on the drilled and tapped receiver, which makes mounting an optic simple.
• The stock is black hardwood in a tactical style with a recoil pad, which sets this model apart from the plain synthetic 64.
• The stock has three QD studs, which gives more than one place to attach a sling.
• The rifle weighs 6.75 pounds and measures 36.75 inches overall, which gives it some heft for steady shooting.
