No Sales Tax Outside Texas

We are a Texas gun store, so we collect Texas sales tax on orders shipped inside Texas — and only on those. If your order ships anywhere else in the country, no sales tax is added at checkout. On firearms and bulk ammunition that difference is real money, and it stays in your pocket.

Here is exactly what we collect, what it saves you, and the one thing your own state may still ask of you.

THE SHORT VERSION

What you actually pay

Sales tax is collected by the seller for the states where that seller is registered. We are registered in Texas. That gives you two cases, and no others:

  • Shipping within Texas: Texas state and local sales tax is added at checkout, as required by law.
  • Shipping anywhere outside Texas: no sales tax is added at checkout — period.

You will see this on the order summary before you pay. On out-of-state orders the sales tax line reads $0.00, and the cart shows what you saved against our Texas rate.

WHAT IT SAVES

How much this is worth

Our Texas rate is 6.75%. Most states that collect sales tax land somewhere between 6% and 10% once local rates are included, so the saving on a given order is roughly what you would have paid at a retailer registered in your state.

  • A $600 pistol — about $40 not charged.
  • A $1,200 rifle — about $81 not charged.
  • A $2,000 build or a bulk ammunition order — about $135 not charged.

Those figures use our 6.75% Texas rate as the yardstick. If your own state's combined rate is higher, the gap is wider still.

THE HONEST PART

What about use tax?

Not collecting sales tax is not the same as saying no tax exists anywhere. Many states ask buyers to report and pay use tax on out-of-state purchases directly to their own state. Whether that applies to you, and how it is reported, depends entirely on your state's rules.

We do not collect use tax, we are not able to advise on it, and nothing on this page is tax advice. If you are unsure, your state's comptroller or revenue department is the right place to check.

HOW IT WORKS

Buying from an out-of-state gun store

It is simple and fully legal — it is how firearms commerce is designed to work.

Firearms ship to a licensed dealer (FFL) near you. You complete your background check there and collect your purchase in person. You choose the dealer at checkout. Ammunition, optics, parts and gear ship straight to your door wherever state and local law allows.

If you want the whole process end to end, read Buying a Gun Online: How It Actually Works. Shipping rates and delivery windows are on our shipping policy.
