The Savage Arms 64 Takedown .22 LR is a compact semi-automatic rimfire that comes apart in seconds and rides in a supplied bug-out bag (Savage part no. 40207). Its 16.5-inch carbon steel barrel is held by a barrel nut for easy disassembly, and the straight-blowback action feeds from a detachable 10-round magazine. Savage drills and taps the receiver for scope mounts and fits a black matte synthetic stock with a recoil pad. It is a trunk, pack and survival rifle that goes to work as soon as it is put back together.
