The Savage Arms 64 Precision Rifle in .22 LR is a semi-automatic rimfire built on a synthetic chassis with an AR-compatible pistol grip, a heavy 16.5-inch threaded barrel and a drilled-and-tapped receiver (brand part no. 45114). Savage ships this version in matte black with a 10-round detachable magazine. There are no sights from the factory, so the one-piece 20 MOA rail is the starting point for whatever optic you choose, and the 1/2×28 muzzle accepts the devices rimfire shooters commonly add. It suits low-cost AR-style trainers, steel-plate matches and relaxed plinking.

Key Specifications

• Chambering is .22 LR, an inexpensive rimfire cartridge that keeps practice affordable.
• The action is semi-automatic, so each trigger pull fires one round without manual cycling.
• The barrel is 16.5 inches of matte black carbon steel in a heavy contour, which resists heat and holds steady through a long string.
• The muzzle is threaded 1/2×28, the common pitch for rimfire muzzle devices.
• Rate of twist is 1:16, a rate suited to .22 LR bullets.
• The detachable box magazine holds 10 rounds, and the magazine release is ambidextrous.
• The receiver is drilled and tapped with a one-piece 20 MOA rail, giving extra elevation for distance shooting with a red dot or scope.
• The glass-filled nylon chassis has an M-LOK-compatible forend, so lights, bipods and grips attach without adapters.
• The AR-compatible pistol grip interface lets shooters swap in a familiar grip for the same hold they use on a centerfire carbine.
• Weight is 5.47 pounds, light enough to shoulder quickly and carry all day.
