The Berger Bullets VLD Hunting Long Range is a .30-caliber, 175-grain hunting bullet (Berger part no. 30512) that Berger considers one of the flattest-shooting hunting bullets in the industry. It shares the same design as Berger’s VLD Target bullets but uses a thinner J4 Precision jacket for rapid expansion in game applications. The bullet penetrates roughly 2 to 3 inches before it begins to expand, then creates a massive wound cavity as hydrostatic shock spreads through the target. That combination of a flat, long-range trajectory and dramatic terminal performance is why the VLD Hunting line has become a go-to choice for hunters shooting big game at extended distances. Each box holds 100 bullets.

Key Specifications

• The .30 caliber fits the wide range of popular .30-caliber long-range hunting cartridges.
• A 175-grain weight balances high ballistic coefficient with reliable terminal performance.
• The VLD (very low drag) profile gives it one of the flattest trajectories in Berger’s hunting lineup.
• A thinner J4 Precision jacket, versus Berger’s VLD Target line, allows rapid expansion on game.
• The bullet penetrates 2 to 3 inches before expanding, then creates a large wound cavity from hydrostatic shock.
• Each box contains 100 bullets for handloading long-range hunting ammunition.
• The secant ogive design reduces drag, giving the VLD a flatter trajectory and less wind drift.
• Built with J4 Precision Bullet jackets, the same jacket favored by custom bullet makers.
