The Arsenal SAM5 in 5.56x45mm and Covert Gray Cerakote (brand part no. SAM5-64GYM) brings an AK-pattern milled receiver to the 5.56 round in a rifle from Arsenal Firearms. The receiver is milled from a hot-die hammer-forged blank, and the 16.3-inch chrome-lined barrel is threaded 14x1mm left-hand and fitted with an AK-351 muzzle brake. An FIME Enhanced Fire Control Group, polymer furniture and an intermediate-length US-made trapdoor buttstock complete the rifle, and a color-matching 30-round Circle 10 magazine is included. It suits shooters who want AK handling with the lighter recoil and wider ammunition choice of 5.56.

Key Specifications

• The chambering is 5.56x45mm, which gives an AK-pattern rifle the lighter recoil of the 5.56 round.
• Barrel length is 16.3 inches, a chrome-lined, hammer-forged barrel made in Arsenal’s Bulgarian factory.
• The muzzle is threaded 14x1mm left-hand, the thread pattern that accepts AK muzzle devices.
• A removable AK-351 muzzle brake comes installed, which tames recoil and muzzle rise.
• The twist rate is 1:7, a rate that stabilizes the common 5.56 bullet weights.
• The receiver is milled from a hot-die hammer-forged blank, which Arsenal says gives stronger, finer-grained steel than bar-stock milling.
• Magazine capacity is 30 rounds, and a color-matching Circle 10 magazine ships with the rifle.
• The finish is Covert Gray Cerakote, applied over the steel to protect the rifle and give it this color.
• The fire control group is the FIME Enhanced Fire Control Group, a popular AK trigger upgrade installed at the factory.
• Overall length is 36.5 inches, with an intermediate-length US-made trapdoor buttstock and an AK scope rail on the receiver.
