The Arsenal SAM5 Gray 5.56x45mm AK rifle comes with Covert Gray polymer furniture and a 30-round magazine to match (Arsenal part no. SAM567GYM). The Gray furniture and the matching Gray magazine set this one apart from the black and color-furniture SAM5 builds. The rifle is a milled-receiver AK-pattern build from Arsenal, chambered in 5.56x45mm with a 16.3-inch chrome-lined barrel and a threaded muzzle that carries an AK-351 muzzle brake. The FIME Enhanced Fire Control Group is installed from the factory. It suits range sessions, a general-purpose carbine role and anyone who wants an American-market AK in a cartridge with easy-to-find ammunition.

Key Specifications

• Chambering is 5.56x45mm, which gives this AK-pattern rifle a lighter-recoiling round with plentiful ammunition.
• The barrel is 16.3 inches long and cold hammer-forged on Steyr technology, a full-length rifle barrel built for sustained use.
• The bore and chamber are hard-chrome plated, which resists corrosion and makes cleaning easier.
• Rifling is 1:7 twist with six grooves, the rate Arsenal specifies for this 5.56 barrel.
• The muzzle is threaded 14x1mm left-hand with a removable AK-351 muzzle brake installed, so another 14x1mm left-hand device can replace it.
• The receiver is milled from a hot-die hammer-forged blank at Arsenal’s Bulgarian factory, a process Arsenal says gives stronger, finer-grained steel than bar stock.
• A FIME Enhanced Fire Control Group is fitted, shortening trigger travel for a smoother, lighter pull than a standard AK trigger.
• Furniture is Covert Gray polymer with an intermediate-length buttstock and a 13.4-inch length of pull, finished to match the magazine.
• Overall length is 36.5 inches and the rifle weighs about 7.98 pounds without a magazine, a manageable size for a milled-receiver AK.
• A side-mounted scope rail and a stainless steel heat shield come on the rifle, so an optic can be added without drilling anything.
