The Sierra Varminter 6mm 85 gr Spitzer (Sierra part no. 1520) is designed specifically for rapid expansion and instant kills on varmints and small game shot with .243-inch rifles. Varminter bullets use thin jackets to enhance expansion while retaining enough strength to be fired safely at the highest muzzle velocities typical of the cartridges they’re intended for. This spitzer profile is one of several shapes Sierra builds into the Varminter classification, chosen for the balance of expansion and flight performance this caliber and weight call for.
