Sierra Varminter .22-Caliber 55-Grain Spitzer bullets (brand part no. 1360) are purpose-built for reloaders chasing rapid, explosive expansion on varmints and small predators. Sierra’s Varminter classification covers bullets with intentionally thin jackets, strong enough to survive the highest muzzle velocities their intended cartridges generate but designed to open up violently and instantly on impact rather than penetrate deep. The spitzer point-flat-base profile keeps the bullet stable in flight while still delivering the fast expansion varmint hunters want. This is a dedicated small-game bullet, not a big-game or target load, and it shines in high-velocity .22-caliber varmint rifles.
