The Sierra Varminter .243 inch 80 Grain Spitzer Boat Tail Blitz bullet (brand part no. 1515) is built by Sierra specifically for rapid expansion and instant kills on larger varmints and small game, sold 100 to a box for 6mm-caliber handloaders. Varminter bullets use thin jackets to enhance expansion while retaining enough strength for the highest muzzle velocities suited to their intended cartridges, and Sierra’s Blitz designation on this loading means it is tuned for medium velocity, under 3600 fps, rather than the fastest magnum-class speeds. The spitzer boat tail profile adds a flatter trajectory at typical 6mm varmint ranges.
