The Winchester Model 70 Super Grade 6.8 Western is a classic controlled-round-feed bolt rifle stocked in AAA Claro walnut and chambered for Winchester’s modern short-action magnum-class round (Winchester part no. 535248299). Winchester pairs a polished, high-gloss blued receiver and 24-inch sporter barrel with a Claro stock showing dark brown grain and mineral streaks, checkered in a fleur-de-lis pattern. The pre-64 style action uses a claw extractor and blade ejector, and one-piece steel bottom metal with a cross bolt stiffens the chassis. A shadowline cheekpiece lines the eye up with the scope, and the M.O.A. Trigger System gives a crisp break. It is a rifle for a once-in-a-lifetime hunt that will look as good on the wall afterward.
