The Thompson Center Encore ProHunter in 20 gauge (brand part no. 6023R) is a single-shot, break-open slug gun with a 26-inch rifled stainless barrel and a 3-inch chamber. Thompson Center builds the Encore on a system of interchangeable barrels, so the same receiver can move between shotgun, centerfire rifle and muzzleloader barrels. The black Flex Tech composite stock carries a LimbSaver AirTech recoil pad with compression arches and Energy Burners to take the sting out of heavy slug loads. The Swing Hammer can be offset to the left or right, and the nitride-coated trigger and sear give a cleaner break. It is a light, accurate choice for deer hunters who want a dedicated slug gun.
