The SureFire Optimized Bolt Carrier (SureFire OBC) is purpose-built for short-barreled rifles and suppressed AR-15 platforms, where excess back-pressure, recoil, and unreliable feeding can ruin performance. By extending carrier stroke, delaying bolt unlock, and integrating a neutrally balanced counterweight, the OBC smooths out cycling, reduces gas blowback, and ensures consistent reliability even under the hardest conditions. The result is a cleaner, softer-shooting rifle that runs more like a full-length system, making the OBC the ultimate upgrade for SBR and suppressed setups. This kit includes the Surefire OBC, HS 3.3 oz Buffer, and buffer spring.

Key Features & Benefits

• Extended Long-Stroke Travel (≈ +60%)
Increases carrier travel to give rounds more time to chamber—solving feeding issues common in SBRs and suppressed rifles.
• Delayed Bolt Unlock (≈ –15% Chamber Pressure)
Slows unlocking to drop chamber pressure before extraction, reducing back-pressure and gas blowback for a smoother suppressed shooting experience.
• Neutrally Balanced Counterweight
Enhances feeding reliability, prevents bolt bounce, and softens recoil impulse—critical for compact platforms running at higher cyclic rates.
• Low-Friction DLC & S-Line Coatings
Keeps the carrier slick, durable, and easy to clean, even when carbon from suppressed fire would normally cause buildup and drag.
• Complete Drop-In System
Includes the matched carrier, buffer, and drive spring, pre-tuned to work together for consistent performance without extra tuning or guesswork.
