The Sierra Sports Master .44 Caliber 300gr jacketed soft point bullet (brand part no. 8630) is built at .4295-inch diameter for heavy-bullet .44 Magnum handloads, with a sectional density of .232 for deep, controlled penetration on medium to large game. Sierra publishes a ballistic coefficient that shifts with velocity on this bullet: .230 at 1,200 fps and above.250 between 1,200 and 900 fps, and .195 below 900 fps, giving handloaders real numbers to run through a ballistics calculator. Sierra also flags that seating this bullet to the cannelure produces an overall length that will not feed reliably through lever-action rifles, and recommends a 1.735-inch overall length in .44 Magnum instead. It ships 50 to a box, five boxes to a case.
