The Sierra BlitzKing .224 inch 40 Grain Spitzer bullet (brand part no. 1440) comes from Sierra, sold 100 to a box for .22-caliber varmint handloaders. BlitzKing bullets are designed for explosive expansion on varmints and small game while holding the kind of accuracy Sierra’s MatchKing line is known for. The tip is molded from a proprietary compound and the jacket is kept thin for enhanced accuracy and violent expansion, and this weight is rated for muzzle velocities up to 4400 fps. At 40 grains this is one of the lightest loadings in the BlitzKing line, favored for the flattest trajectories at typical varmint ranges.
