The Savage 334 350 Legend bolt-action rifle pairs an 18-inch button-rifled barrel with a black synthetic stock for a straight-wall deer rifle that keeps things simple (brand part no. 22160). Savage builds the 334 around a matte black carbon steel receiver with an integrated recoil lug, a three-lug bolt with a 60-degree lift that clears a scope on fast follow-up shots, and a three-position safety. The free-floating heavy sporter barrel is finished with an 11-degree target crown, and a steel MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail comes installed on the receiver so a scope mounts without hunting for bases. Feeding is from a 3-round detachable box magazine with an ambidextrous release. For hunters in straight-wall cartridge states who want a bolt gun that handles well in a stand, this is the configuration to look at.
