The Magpul MOE AK Handguard (brand part number MAG619-BLK) is a black polymer handguard built to replace the original handguard on standard AK-pattern rifles that do not use a front sling loop on the handguard retainer (it can also work on rifles with a sling loop if the loop is removed). Magpul molds it from reinforced, heat-resistant polymer with an integral black-oxide-coated stainless steel heat shield, then adds M-LOK slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions for direct-attach accessories or Picatinny rail sections. A front lip and long side extensions shield your hand from a hot barrel while adding extra gripping surface, and it still accepts a factory cleaning rod. Because AK receivers vary in tolerance, minor fitting may be required, and it’s not compatible with Yugo-pattern rifles, RPK-style receivers, or milled receivers. This handguard counts as one US-compliance part under 18 U.S.C. 922(r).
