The Knight’s Armament folding micro front sight is a flip-up front iron sight for AR-15 rifles with a top rail (Knight’s Armament part no. 25654). It is part of KAC’s Micro Iron Sights line, which the company says is in use by the United States Army, Marine Corps and numerous law enforcement agencies worldwide. A tool-free, finger-adjustable post makes sight corrections quick, and when the sight is folded it keeps one of the lowest top-rail footprints in the industry. That makes it a good fit for a rifle with an optic where the irons ride as backup.

Key Specifications

• The post is tool-free and finger-adjustable, so elevation corrections need no wrench at the range.
• Elevation is adjustable, which lets you set zero on the front sight rather than the rear.
• Construction is steel and aluminum, a combination chosen for strength where the sight meets the rail.
• Folded, the sight keeps a low-profile top-rail footprint, leaving room for an optic and other rail-mounted accessories.
• The sight uses a proprietary front sight post that is not interchangeable with other aftermarket AR-15 front sight posts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I swap in a standard AR-15 front sight post? No. Knight’s Armament notes that the micro front sight uses a proprietary post that is not interchangeable with any other aftermarket AR-15 front sight post.

Does it need tools to adjust? No. The front sight post is tool-free and finger-adjustable, which makes sight corrections fast and simple.

Why a folding sight? When folded it has one of the lowest top-rail footprints in the industry, so it stays out of the way of an optic and other rail-mounted accessories.
