The Hornady FTX .452 45-Caliber 200-Grain Flex Tip eXpanding bullet (brand part no. 45215) brings Hornady’s rifle-proven FTX technology down to handgun reloading. Built for shooters loading .45-caliber handgun cartridges, this bullet uses a soft, compressible polymer tip that gets pushed into the nose on impact, forcing controlled expansion at a wide range of velocities rather than just the narrow window many jacketed hollow points need. An InterLock ring mechanically locks the copper jacket to the lead core so the two don’t separate on impact, protecting weight retention and penetration depth. The secant ogive profile also carries the bullet flatter and truer at handgun ranges, making this a strong pick for defensive or hunting handgun reloads.
