The GLFA 1911 .45 ACP 5-Inch Black Cherry pistol is a full-size, optic-ready 1911 (brand part no. GL1911-45FSSCHY). Great Lakes Firearms and Ammunition builds the platform around a 5-inch 416R stainless steel barrel chambered in .45 ACP, with a stainless frame, custom in-house aluminum grip panels and a skeletonized hammer. The slide is cut for RMSc-footprint micro red dots, so a compact optic mounts without an adapter plate. The Black Cherry color on this 5-inch build sets it apart from the other GLFA 1911 options, and the maker finishes every one in Cerakote. It suits competition, range sessions and self-defense for shooters who want a modern, optic-ready 1911 from Great Lakes.

Key Specifications

• The chambering is .45 ACP, the cartridge the 1911 was designed around and a proven choice for defense and range work.
• The barrel is 5 inches in 416R stainless steel, a length that balances sight radius against handling.
• Magazine capacity is 8 rounds, the single-stack count that keeps a 1911 grip slim.
• Two magazines are included, so the pistol is ready for a range trip without a separate magazine purchase.
• The slide is cut for RMSc-footprint optics, which lets a micro red dot sit low without an adapter plate.
• The safety is ambidextrous, giving left- and right-handed shooters the same thumb-safety access.
• The sights are a fiber optic front with a fixed rear, which gives a bright front dot in daylight.
• The trigger is adjustable and skeletonized, so pull feel can be tuned to the shooter.
• The frame is stainless steel with custom aluminum grip panels made in-house, adding durability and a distinctive look.
• The color is Black Cherry in a Cerakote finish, and window cuts in the slide trim weight to 42 ounces overall.
