Boyt Harness builds the Alaskan Series 48-inch scoped rifle case in OD green for hunters who want a padded waxed canvas case with real room for a mounted optic (Boyt part no. OGC98PL09). The outer shell is 24-ounce waxed canvas, and quilted flannel over thick cotton batting lines the interior from stock to muzzle. Inside, the stock and optics area stands 8.75 inches tall before tapering to a 4-inch barrel end, so the case follows the shape of a scoped rifle. A heavy-duty #10 antique brass zipper with lockable double pulls closes it, and the heavy-duty web sling and spine carry it. OD green suits a hunting truck or a gun room equally well, and at 48 inches this is the longest Alaskan rifle size.

Key Specifications

• Interior length is 48 inches, the top of the three Alaskan scoped rifle sizes, measured on the inside of the case.
• The shell is 24-ounce waxed canvas in OD green, a dense, heavyweight fabric in a muted field color.
• The lining is quilted flannel with thick cotton batting, which cushions the rifle without scuffing its finish.
• The stock end provides an 8.75-inch-tall optics area, the extra height that makes this a scoped rifle case.
• The barrel end tapers to 4 inches tall, keeping the muzzle end of the case trim.
• The heavy-duty #10 antique brass zipper uses lockable double pulls, so a small padlock can secure it.
• A heavy-duty web sling and spine give it a shoulder carry and run the full length of the case.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the measurements inside or outside the case? Boyt bases its gun case measurements on interior dimensions, so the 48-inch length, the 8.75-inch optics area and the 4-inch barrel end are all inside figures.

Does the case have an outside pocket? Yes. An exterior accessory pocket measuring 10 x 4.5 inches holds small items that go with the rifle.

What separates the Alaskan Series from the Signature Series? Per Boyt, the only difference is that the Alaskan Series uses a webbed spine and sling, while the Signature Series uses leather.
