The Barnes Defense 12 Gauge 00 Buck 9-Pellet shotshell (Barnes part no. 32009) is a 2-3/4-inch buckshot load sold in a 5-round box. Barnes lists it in its Defense Buckshot family for personal-defense use, with a lead buckshot payload of nine 00 pellets. The maker’s published muzzle velocity is 1325 fps. Nine-pellet 00 buck is a standard 12-gauge defensive pattern, and a five-round box suits a home-defense gun that holds a few shells. Pattern the load in your own shotgun before you rely on it.
