The Hornady FTX Bullets in .45 caliber, 325 grains, Flex Tip eXpanding (Hornady part no. 45015), revolutionized lever-gun ballistics by giving tubular-magazine rifles a soft, pointed tip that will not set off the primer of the round ahead of it in the magazine, unlike a traditional spitzer point.

Key Specifications

• .45 caliber.458-inch diameter bullet is sized for .45-70 Government and other .45-caliber lever-gun cartridges.
• 325-grain weight is a heavy weight built for deep penetration on large or heavy-bodied game.
• Patented Flex Tip design is soft and safe for tubular magazines, unlike a hard spitzer point.
• Secant ogive design pairs with the tapered front section for a much higher ballistic coefficient than a flat- or round-nose lever bullet.
• Extended bearing surface improves stability through the barrel.
• High-antimony lead core is harder than pure lead for more controlled expansion.
• InterLock ring locks the core to the jacket for reliable expansion and deep penetration.
