The Hornady InterLock .458 Cal Bullets, 300 gr Hollow Point (Hornady part no. 4500) are Hornady‘s bonded-style hunting bullet for big-bore rifles, sold 50 to a box. InterLock’s signature feature is a raised ring inside the jacket that’s embedded in the bullet’s core, keeping the core and jacket locked together during expansion so the bullet retains mass and energy instead of the jacket separating from the core on impact. The tapered jacket thickness is precisely controlled for expansion at all velocities, and the one-piece core doesn’t separate. A cannelure provides accurate, consistent crimping and works with the InterLock ring to keep the core and jacket locked together through expansion.
