The Wilson Combat Stainless Series 70 Firing Pin Stop for the mid-size Commander 1911 frame (Wilson Combat part no. 399S-70) is sized for pistols built on the older Series 70 fire control system, which has no trigger-operated firing pin block. Wilson Combat is one of the most respected names in match-grade 1911 pistolsmithing, and the firing pin stop is the small plate at the rear of the slide that retains the firing pin and its spring while serving as the hammer’s striking surface. This version is machined from stainless steel for the Commander frame.
What is the difference between Series 70 and Series 80? Series 70 pistols have no trigger-operated firing pin safety block and use a different firing pin stop than Series 80 pistols, which do have that block.
Will a Series 80 firing pin stop work on a Series 70 pistol? No, the two systems use different internal parts, so a Series 70 pistol needs a Series 70-pattern firing pin stop like this one.
Order the Wilson Combat Stainless Series 70 Firing Pin Stop for the Commander frame from Wilson Combat through our handgun parts selection for a correct, direct-fit replacement. Our Lubbock, Texas team can help confirm your fire control system before you order.
