The Smith & Wesson M&P Rescue is a purpose-built folding knife (brand part no. SWMP11BCP) designed for first responders and everyday carry alike. Its 3.8-inch tanto blade is ground from high carbon stainless steel for a durable point that stands up to prying and piercing, and the liner-lock action keeps the blade secure the instant it’s needed. Ambidextrous thumb knobs and an index flipper mean either hand can get the blade open fast, whether you’re working a scene or opening a package at your desk. Built on the same styling cues as the M&P handgun line, this knife pairs a rescue-ready feature set with an EDC-friendly size.

Key Specifications

• The 3.8-inch tanto blade is milled from stainless steel, giving it a reinforced tip that handles piercing and prying tasks a standard point can’t.
• An 11.35-inch overall length gives you a full-size working blade without the bulk of a fixed knife.
• The black G10 handle is textured and chemical-resistant, so it holds its grip whether your hands are wet, gloved, or bloody.
• A built-in glass breaker tip is integrated into the pommel for fast egress through tempered auto glass.
• The onboard strap/seat belt cutter lets you free a trapped occupant in seconds without hunting for a second tool.
• Dual ambidextrous thumb knobs and an index flipper let you deploy the blade one-handed from either side.
• A reversible pocket clip keeps the knife riding secure and accessible in a front pocket.

Frequently Asked Questions

What blade shape does it use? A tanto blade, chosen for a reinforced tip that handles piercing and prying better than a standard drop point.

Is this a good first-responder or EDC knife? Yes — the rescue tools plus the compact folding profile make it equally useful for on-duty rescue work and daily carry.
