Sierra BlitzKing .20-Caliber .204-Diameter 39-Grain bullets (brand part no. 1039) are Sierra’s dedicated high-velocity varmint bullet, built around a polymer tip and boat-tail base for reloaders chasing predators and small game at extreme range. The polymer tip initiates violent expansion the instant it meets resistance, while the boat-tail profile keeps the bullet stable and flat-shooting well past typical varmint distances. Sierra publishes a full ballistic coefficient curve for this bullet across its velocity range, reflecting the kind of load-development detail serious varmint shooters expect. At a sectional density of .134, it’s light and fast rather than built for penetration, exactly what a dedicated varmint bullet should be.

Key Specifications

• Bullet diameter is .204 inch, standard for .20-caliber varmint cartridges.
• Each bullet weighs 39 grains, a light, fast-expanding varmint weight.
• The BlitzKing polymer tip, boat tail design combines rapid expansion with a flat trajectory.
• Sectional density is rated at .134, consistent with a dedicated high-velocity varmint bullet.
• Ballistic coefficient ranges from .287 at 3,600 feet per second and above down to .210 between 2,300 and 1,900 feet per second, letting reloaders dial in trajectory across velocity bands.
• Bullets are packaged 100 per box for extended varmint season use.
• Ships at approximately 0.6 lb, light enough to keep freight costs down.
• Listed under Sierra’s Ballistic Tip product type classification.
• Ships 5 boxes to a case for high-volume reloaders.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is this bullet designed for? High-velocity varmint and predator hunting, where explosive expansion matters more than penetration.

Does the ballistic coefficient change with velocity? Yes, Sierra publishes a stepped BC curve from .287 at top velocities down to .210 at reduced velocities.

What cartridges use a .204-inch bullet? Standard .20-caliber varmint cartridges load this bullet diameter.
