The Sierra GameKing 270 Win 140gr HPBT Hunting Bullets (Sierra part no. 1835) are built for hunters chasing long-range accuracy without giving up big game performance. Sierra designed the GameKing line to carry the ballistic advantage of a match-style boat tail base into a hunting bullet, so the streamlined tapered heel cuts drag for flatter trajectories, higher retained velocity, and less wind drift on the way to the target. Each box holds 100 bullets for a full season of .270 Winchester handloads.

Key Specifications

• .270 Winchester chambering is this bullet’s intended cartridge.
• 140-grain bullet weight is a strong mid-to-heavy choice for deer and similar big game.
• Hollow point meplat is a small, precise opening carried over from Sierra’s target-bullet designs.
• Boat tail base brings a low-drag, match-style tapered heel to a hunting bullet.
• Reduced drag design delivers higher retained velocity and greater striking energy downrange.
• Flatter trajectory and reduced wind drift come from the same boat tail geometry used on Sierra’s target bullets.
• 100 bullets per box covers a full hunting season of handloads.
• Built for controlled expansion on impact, matching a hunting-bullet profile rather than a target-only construction.
• Sold as a bare reloading component, not loaded ammunition, pairing with brass, a primer, and a powder charge you select.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is this bullet built for? It is a GameKing hunting bullet designed for long-range accuracy on big game, using a boat tail base borrowed from Sierra’s match bullet designs.

How does the boat tail help at long range? The tapered base reduces drag, which improves retained velocity, striking energy, trajectory, and resistance to wind drift compared to a flat-base bullet.
