The Retay ACE-R Paloma 28 gauge shotgun (brand part no. CRACEPAL28) is the sporting-dressed version of Retay USA‘s ACE-R inertia gun, with a 28-inch ported barrel, a raised rib and a polished black finish. Retay lists the 28 gauge Paloma at 5 pounds, so it comes up fast on a crossing dove and does not wear on you over a long afternoon. The barrel is deep-bore drilled with a factory-lengthened forcing cone, the receiver is plastic-free aluminum, and the Inertia Plus action keeps the gun clean because it vents no gas back into the receiver. A hexagon-textured grip resists sweat, the AIRY recoil system is rated for up to 30 percent less felt recoil, and an Easy Out unloading feature clears the magazine without cycling shells through the chamber. For a wingshooter or sporting clays shooter who wants a sub-gauge semi-auto with competition touches, the Paloma is the one to look at.
