The RCBS Case Trimmer Pilot (RCBS part no. 9381) is the 264/6.5 mm (.264) insert that keeps your case perfectly centered during trimming. It’s a small but essential piece: the tapered nose guides into the case mouth and prevents the case from wobbling as the cutter squares it to length, which matters most for precision rifle handloaders chasing consistent case length across an entire batch of brass. RCBS pilots are sold individually so you can build a complete set for every cartridge you load, available in our reloading equipment lineup.

Key Specifications

• Ships at a listed weight of about 0.2 oz, a small add-on to any trimmer or die order.
• Sized for 264/6.5 mm (.264) case-mouth diameter.
• Sold individually (qty. 1) — one pilot per package.
• Tapered nose centers the pilot in the case mouth as it’s inserted, so alignment is automatic.
• Prevents the case from wobbling during the cut, so the trimmed case mouth comes out square.
• Compatible only with RCBS Trim Pro Case Trimmers, Rotary Case Trimmer, and 2 Rotary Case Trimmer — not other trimmer brands.
• Classified by RCBS as a Pilot, the swappable insert that adapts one trimmer body to different case-mouth diameters.
• Must be swapped for the matching size whenever you change to a different cartridge or case-mouth diameter.
• Sized to the case mouth itself, not the case body, so pilot size tracks bullet/neck diameter rather than overall cartridge length.
