The Proof Research carbon fiber Sendero barrel blank in .308 caliber is a 22-inch, 1:10 twist blank for custom bolt-action builds (Proof Research part no. 100998). It ships ready for your gunsmith to thread and chamber, so the chambering, thread pitch and muzzle treatment are yours to choose. Proof wraps the barrel in aerospace-grade carbon fiber impregnated with a proprietary matrix resin, which the company says makes it up to 64% lighter than a traditional steel barrel of similar contour. The 22-inch length keeps a .308 rifle handy in the field. For a builder planning a lightweight bolt-action .308, this Proof Research blank is the place to start.
