The Proof Research PXT Ruckus pre-fit barrel (brand part no. 152737) is a chambered and threaded 7mm PRC carbon fiber barrel for the Defiance Ruckus action, 20 inches long with a 1:8 PXT twist in Proof’s Sendero contour. It is a pre-fit, not a blank: Proof says its Ruckus pre-fits install with only a few specialized tools, so you torque the barrel on, double-check headspace with proper gauges and head to the range. PXT, or PROOF Exponential Twist, reduces the rifling lead angle and smooths how the bullet engages the bore, which Proof says reduces wear, improves consistency and cuts felt torque. Proof wraps it in aerospace-grade carbon fiber, which it rates up to 64 percent lighter than a steel barrel of similar contour, with improved heat dissipation for cooler, longer-lasting barrels. Proof’s drop-in Ruckus barrels are made for actions with the recessed bolt-nose option, so check your bolt before ordering.
