The October Mountain Ascent recurve in blue at 45 lb gives an experienced archer a heavier pull on a compact 58-inch, three-piece take-down frame (October Mountain part no. OMP81221). A 45-pound draw adds speed behind the arrow, which is the reason archers step up in weight as their strength allows. October Mountain makes the riser from a single piece of magnesium, builds the limb pockets right into it and finishes it with a sleek EZ-Fit grip. The bow arrives with a Pro Hunter arrow rest installed, plus a Flemish string and flathead socket-cap limb bolts, and its machine-threaded mounts accept a sight. It is a right-hand bow, finished here in blue.

Key Specifications

• Draw weight is 45 pounds, a heavier pull for an archer who has already built up shooting strength and wants more arrow speed.
• The magnesium riser is made as one piece, with limb pockets built in for dependability.
• Color is blue, a bold finish for an archer who wants the bow to look as good as it shoots.
• At 58 inches, the Ascent is a compact recurve that stores and carries easily.
• Handedness is right-hand, the only orientation October Mountain makes the Ascent in.
• The riser carries machine-threaded sight and rest mounts, so accessories bolt on directly.
• A take-down layout splits the bow into three pieces, which also makes swapping limbs straightforward.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I change the draw weight later? Yes. Because the Ascent is a take-down, the limbs come off the riser, and October Mountain sells Ascent limb sets separately so the same riser can move up or down in draw weight.

What comes with the bow? The bow ships with a Pro Hunter arrow rest pre-installed, a Flemish string and flathead socket-cap limb bolts.

Is this a target bow or a hunting bow? Both. October Mountain designed the 58-inch Ascent for recreational archers and hunters alike, so it works for target archery and for bowhunting.
