The Smith & Wesson M&P M.A.G.I.C. Modified Tanto Folding Knife, Gray Aluminum (part no. SWMP6) maintains the Military & Police series’ firearm-inspired styling in a modified tanto blade with a tip-up pocket clip. Deployment comes from either a gunsight-shaped lever or the thumb stud, both of which trigger the M.A.G.I.C. assisted-opening mechanism to spring the blade open fast. The gray aluminum handle includes a side safety to keep the blade secured until you need it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this knife’s opening lever shaped? It resembles a gunsight, in keeping with the M&P series’ firearm-inspired styling, and it triggers the same M.A.G.I.C. mechanism as the thumb stud.

Is M.A.G.I.C. an automatic opening system? No. M.A.G.I.C. is Smith & Wesson’s assisted-opening mechanism, meaning you start the blade moving with the lever or thumb stud and the mechanism completes the opening, which is legally distinct from an automatic knife.
