The Safariland Model 6390 ALS Mid-Ride Level I duty holster for the Sig Sauer P229 (Safariland part no. 1151543) is an open-top holster with an internal Automatic Locking System. The ALS retains the pistol in all directions once it is holstered, with no straps or snaps to manipulate. It is completely operable with the thumb, and a simple straight-up draw releases the pistol. Safariland lists the Sig P228 along with the P229. A mid-ride belt loop keeps the holster close to the body, and a suede lining protects the sights and finish.
