The Magpul PMAG ICAR GEN M3 6mm ARC 25-Round Magazine is a purpose-built AR magazine engineered specifically around the 6mm ARC cartridge (Magpul part no. MAG1490-BLK). It’s molded in durable black polymer and fits lower receivers built to the Six8 magwell pattern, including the Surefire ICAR carbine and compatible platforms. The anti-tilt, self-lubricating follower is optimized for 6mm ARC’s dimensions, helping the magazine support consistent feeding even in demanding conditions. Genuine Magpul engineering and manufacturing back the PMAG ICAR GEN M3 line, the same design philosophy behind Magpul’s widely trusted 5.56 PMAGs. For 6mm ARC shooters who want factory-reliable feeding at 25-round capacity, this is a direct match for Six8-pattern rifles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this magazine fit a standard AR-15 lower?

No, it’s built for lower receivers using the Six8 magwell pattern, such as the Surefire ICAR platform, not a standard AR-15 magwell.

Why is the follower designed specifically for 6mm ARC?

6mm ARC has different cartridge dimensions than 5.56 or .223, so the follower geometry is tuned to feed it reliably.

Is this the same PMAG quality as Magpul’s 5.56 magazines?

Yes, it’s built by Magpul with the same GEN M3 engineering and materials used across their PMAG lineup.
