Description

Built as the smallest rifle in the Vector series, the KRISS Vector SBR Gen 3 9mm in Flat Dark Earth pairs a 5.5-inch 9x19mm barrel with a Flat Dark Earth finish (KRISS part no. KV90-3SFD00). KRISS’s patented Super V system redirects blowback energy downward, and the barrel sits below the fire control group for what KRISS calls the lowest bore axis of any firearm in the world. The third generation adds an upper that works with aftermarket pistol grips and a lower housing reshaped for a better hold. It feeds from full-size Glock magazines and ships with one 40-round magazine, which makes it a natural home-defense carbine or a short, quiet suppressor host. At 6.4 pounds and just over two feet long with the stock collapsed, it is about as small as a rifle-format pistol-caliber carbine gets.

Key Specifications

  • Weight is 6.4 pounds unloaded, light enough to carry and shoulder all day.
  • The barrel is 4140 chrome moly steel, a tough alloy for long service life.
  • Barrel finish is black nitride (QPQ), a hard surface treatment that resists wear and corrosion.
  • The muzzle is threaded 1/2×28 RH, ready for a compatible muzzle device or suppressor.
  • It ships with one 40-round magazine and takes full-size Glock magazines.
  • The stock is the KRISS ambidextrous telescopic folding stock, which adjusts for length and folds for storage.
  • Overall length is 24.25 inches collapsed and 26.2 inches extended, very compact for a shoulder-fired rifle.
  • The rifle wears a Flat Dark Earth finish, a tan that suits field and desert setups.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Flat Dark Earth model differ from the other colors? Only in finish. KRISS lists the same barrel, stock, trigger and operating system across the Gen 3 SBR colors.

Do I need ATF approval to buy this? No. As of October 9, 2026, ATF no longer requires Form 4 approval, registration or a tax stamp for short-barreled rifles. It transfers on a Form 4473 with a background check through a Class 3 (SOT) dealer. State and local laws still apply. Taking an SBR across state lines still requires an approved ATF Form 5320.20.

Can I mount a suppressor? Yes. The barrel is threaded 1/2×28 RH, so a 9mm suppressor or muzzle device with that thread pitch mounts directly.
