Description

The Kimber 2K11 Comp Black 9mm is a double-stack 2011-style pistol with a compensator machined into the slide and barrel, built to cut felt recoil for competition and fast range work (Kimber part no. 3500103). This version is the optic-ready model with a fixed rear cover plate, so the slide takes a red dot through the RMR adapter plate Kimber ships with it. Each 2K11 is assembled one at a time by a single technician, and this one wears a black DLC finish over a stainless slide and frame. A Stan Chen Customs magwell and a carbon fiber grip module round out a gun that Kimber calls the flattest-shooting, highest-performance competitive handgun it has built. Anyone who wants a ready-to-run 9mm for a red dot will find it a strong starting point from Kimber.

Key Specifications

  • Chambering is 9mm, the standard high-capacity round for competition and defensive use.
  • The barrel is 5 inches of stainless steel, fluted and ramped, with 5R rifling in a 1:10 twist.
  • A compensator with a forward port of 0.16 square inches is machined into the slide and barrel to reduce felt recoil.
  • The slide is optic ready through an RMR-footprint adapter plate that ships with the pistol, so a red dot can be mounted without milling.
  • The rear sight is a fixed rear cover plate, which leaves the slide clean when a red dot is installed.
  • The front sight is a TAG FiberLok 2, and extra red and black fiber-optic inserts come in the box.
  • The trigger is Kimber’s GT Match Grade with a 3 to 4 pound pull, giving a clean, repeatable break.
  • An ambidextrous safety sits on both sides of the frame so right- and left-handed shooters can work it equally well, with a bumped grip safety behind it.
  • The slide and frame carry a black DLC finish over stainless steel, a hard coating that resists wear and glare.
  • Three magazines are included: one 17-round and two 20-round, so spares are ready for the first match.
