The Howa Carbon Stalker in .223 Remington is a Mini Action bolt-action rifle in a custom carbon fiber stock, and Howa lists the Mini Action version at 4 pounds 14 ounces (Howa part no. HCBN223KA). Howa fits a threaded barrel to the compact Mini Action receiver and adds a two-stage match trigger and a three-position safety. A detachable magazine feeds the rifle, and Howa quotes a sub-MOA standard of a three-shot group at 100 yards with premium factory ammunition. The light carbon stock is the point of the rifle, built for long walks with a short, handy action. For a predator or varmint hunter who counts ounces, this is the Carbon Stalker to look at.
