The Hornady InterLock .45 Caliber 350gr flat point rifle bullet (brand part no. 4503) is built at .458-inch diameter with a precisely tapered jacket thickness that’s controlled for consistent expansion across a wide range of velocities. Hornady locks the core to the jacket with a raised InterLock ring embedded in the bullet’s core, so the one-piece core does not separate on impact. A cannelure provides accurate, consistent crimping and works together with the InterLock ring to keep the core and jacket locked during expansion. The flat point profile, versus the round nose option in this same caliber and weight, is built for hunters who want a wider meplat for a larger initial wound channel. It ships 50 to a box.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the flat point differ from the InterLock round nose in this caliber? Both share the same .458-inch, 350-grain InterLock construction; the flat point uses a wider meplat for a larger initial wound channel.

What does the InterLock ring do? It is a raised ring embedded in the bullet’s core, keeping the core and jacket locked together during expansion so the bullet retains mass and energy.
