The Hornady Sub-X 7.62x39mm 255gr Bullets (Hornady part no. 3148) are 255gr 7.62x39mm projectiles from Hornady’s Sub-X line. Sub-X (Subsonic eXpanding) bullets pair a lead core with long gilding-metal jacket grooves and a patented Flex Tip insert to expand reliably below the speed of sound, with a cannelure for a positive case crimp in semi-auto actions. Each box holds 100 bullets, enough to develop and confirm a load before committing to a full run. It’s a good fit for handloaders building subsonic, suppressor-friendly ammunition.
