The Hornady Traditional Varmint .257 inch 60 Grain Flat Point bullet (brand part no. 2510) is a purpose-built varmint projectile packed 100 per box for handloaders working up rounds for .25-caliber rifles. Hornady builds it with a rugged AMP bullet jacket (Advanced Manufacturing Process) that holds virtually zero tolerance for concentricity and near-zero wall-thickness variation, so every bullet leaves the press the same as the last. It is intended strictly for handloading, not as loaded ammunition, and fits any reloading press set up for .25-caliber dies. The thin-plated jacket is engineered to distort and separate quickly on impact, making this a dedicated small-varmint load rather than a big-game bullet.

Key Specifications

• The .257 inch bullet diameter matches standard .25-caliber cartridges such as the .25-06 Remington and .257 Roberts.
• A 60 grain weight keeps this bullet light and fast for flat-shooting varmint trajectories.
• The Flat Point profile is built specifically for explosive expansion on small varmints rather than deep penetration.
• The AMP bullet jacket construction gives the bullet near-zero concentricity variation for consistent accuracy load after load.
• Sold 100 bullets per box for handloaders working through high volumes of varmint ammunition.
• Ships at approximately 0.91 lb per box.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the AMP bullet jacket? It stands for Advanced Manufacturing Process, a Hornady jacket-forming technique that holds near-zero variation in wall thickness and concentricity for consistent flight and expansion.

Is this a loaded cartridge? No. This is a component bullet for handloaders; it must be seated into a case with the correct powder charge and primer for your .25-caliber rifle.

What game is this bullet suited for? Small varmints. The thin, easily distorted jacket is designed to expand violently on light targets like prairie dogs and ground squirrels, not larger game.
