The Hornady Outfitter .243 Winchester 80gr CX is a box of 20 rounds of .243 Winchester ammunition (Hornady part no. 804574) loaded with a 80-grain CX bullet. Outfitter is built for use from the backcountry to the back-forty, with corrosion-resistant nickel-plated cases that are sealed watertight and topped with the CX bullet. Hornady describes the CX as a copper alloy expanding bullet that gives uniform, controlled expansion, deep penetration and 95 percent or better weight retention. Hornady lists 3200 fps at the muzzle from a 24-inch test barrel. A sealed primer and case mouth keep moisture out of the round, so it is a hunting load built for rough weather.
