The Grey Ghost Gear GHP pouch, short for Gut Hider Pouch, is a black lower accessory pouch that adds storage under a plate carrier or armor vest without taking up modular real estate (Grey Ghost Gear part no. 2014-2). It hangs at the navel area from a dual-sided hook-and-loop panel that slides into the armor pocket between the flap and the carrier. The panel is reversible, so the right side of the hook and loop meets the plate pocket on different makers’ carriers, such as Grey Ghost Gear’s own SMC and Minimalist carriers, with the zippered opening still facing outward. The pouch is made of 500D Cordura nylon. Think of it as a low-slung utility pouch for a bottle of pain reliever, a pair of dry socks and the odds and ends that never seem to have a home on the front of a rig.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the GHP attach to a plate carrier? Its dual-sided hook-and-loop panel inserts into the armor pocket between the flap and the carrier, so the pouch hangs at the navel area.

Will it work with my carrier? The top panel is reversible so the correct side of the hook and loop attaches to the plate pocket on different designs, such as the SMC and Minimalist carriers.

Does it use MOLLE space? No. It hangs below the carrier, so the modular webbing on the front stays free for other pouches.
