The Chiappa 1887 is a lever-action 12 gauge shotgun that reproduces John Browning’s original 1887 design, with a 28-inch barrel and a case-colored receiver (brand part no. 930001). It was an early attempt to bring the lever gun’s fast cycling to the shotgun world, and this modern reproduction feeds from a five-round tube magazine. The receiver is color case hardened, the barrel is blued, and the stock and forend are hand-oiled walnut. An internal safety is built into the action, and three Mobil choke tubes (Improved Cylinder, Modified and Full) allow the patterns to be tuned. It suits cowboy-action shooters and period-minded hunters who want an authentic Chiappa Firearms lever-action shotgun.
