The Barnes VOR-TX Safari .458 Win Mag 450gr Banded Solid .458 Winchester Magnum load is a 20-round box of solid brass dangerous game ammunition (Barnes part no. 22023). Barnes says its VOR-TX Safari Banded Solid bullets are engineered to track straight, stay true through bone and perform without deformation for immediate stopping power. The published figures put the 450-grain round nose bullet at 2240 fps and 5015 ft-lb at the muzzle, with a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.362. Barnes lists the pursuit as dangerous game and big game, with hunting as the purpose. A solid brass bullet is a different build from the expanding TSX in the same line, so this is the load to look at when the goal is a bullet that holds its shape.
