The Spyderco Autonomy 2 Automatic Knife (brand part no. C165GP2) takes all the groundbreaking features of the original Autonomy, developed to meet the demanding needs of U.S. Coast Guard rescue swimmers, and molds them into a design optimized for everyday utilitarian use. Spyderco builds the ergonomic, open-backed handle with full stainless steel liners flanked by textured G-10 scales, giving the knife a rugged, secure grip in wet or gloved conditions. The easily indexed, oversized firing button includes a sliding safety to prevent unintentional activation, and it extends through the opposite-side liner to maximize lock-up strength once the blade is deployed. This heritage traces directly back to a knife built for genuine water-rescue duty.
