The Pietta Great Western II Alchimista I .45 Long Colt revolver with a 5.5-inch barrel and no manual safety (Pietta part no. HF45CHSAR512NM) is a single-action six-shot built around the 1860 Army grip frame. Pietta makes the Great Western II in Brescia, Italy, and the Alchimista pairs a competition trigger with the longer, slimmer 1860 grip for a revolver that points naturally. The blued barrel and cylinder sit against a case-hardened frame with checkered walnut grips, and the exposed hammer is cocked for each shot. It is a good match for cowboy action shooting, range days and anyone who wants a traditional single-action with a few thoughtful changes.
