The LMT MARS-L 5.56 MRP 16-inch rifle is a semi-automatic 5.56x45mm carbine built on LMT’s Monolithic Rail Platform (LMT part no. MRPMLK16-MARS). The upper is machined from one aerospace aluminum forging, and two side-access bolts lock the barrel extension so the barrel can be changed and return to zero. It uses a 16-inch chrome-lined barrel with direct impingement, an ambidextrous MARS-L lower and an SOPMOD stock. It is a duty-grade rifle for range work, training and home defense.
