The Smith & Wesson M&P FPC 9mm in Black Topographic is an optics-ready carbine with a compact, horizontal folding design (Smith & Wesson part no. 14578). It ships with one 17-round and two 23-round magazines, with magazine storage built into the stock behind a quick-release latch. A 16.25-inch threaded barrel, M-LOK slots and a Picatinny-style rail on the handguard give plenty of room to set it up. The folding mechanism does not interfere with a top-mounted optic, which stays on the rifle when it is folded. Folded, the carbine shrinks to 16 3/8 inches for a pack, a case or a vehicle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the carbine accept M&P pistol magazines? Yes. It is compatible with M&P full-size and compact double-stack pistol magazines, and the stock holds spares behind a quick-release tab.

Can I keep an optic mounted when the carbine is folded? Yes. The horizontal folding design does not interfere with a top-mounted optic, and the charging handle doubles as a retainer when folded. Optics are sold separately.
